      Voter Initiatives         
   
       As the President of the Florida Citizens For Term Limits I have championed the principles and the importance of voter initiatives. Unlike the Republicans & Democrats who want to limit the voter initiative process, I want to expand it. If the legislature blocks my agenda I will go to directly to the citizens through the initiative and referendum process. I will also sponsor five voter initiatives: 

      1. I will call for an initiative to bring about a three-year moratorium on condo development in order to minimize over-development in the State of Florida. 

      2. I will call for an initiative which will result in the elimination of taxpayer-funded pensions for state legislators 

      3. I will sponsor an initiative to require full disclosure of lobbyists pay and benefits 

      4. I will ask the citizens of Florida to vote in favor of a lifetime ban that would prevent legislators and legislative staff from becoming lobbyists 

      5. I will support an initiative I call “Eight and Out” The initiative would require that after 8 years, a legislator must not run for office for three years. I want no more political musical chairs, played by career politicians who violate the spirit of Florida’s term limits law by running for alternative offices when their terms expire.
